Menopause has always been around, but menopausal women are now the fastest growing workforce demographic. 3 out of 4 women experience symptoms of menopause and for 1 in 4, these symptoms can be serious.
Everyone experiences menopause differently, so there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to supporting individuals through this time. Symptoms can be physical and psychological, and can include:
- hot flushes
- headaches
- poor sleep
- anxiety
- lack of confidence
- poor concentration/brain fog
Here at Stowe, we are pleased to see this topic being spoken about more and we want to create a working environment where our employees can speak openly and honestly about how they are feeling and what they are going through and can access the support they need to help them navigate what can be a challenging time.
We’ve recently launched our new, dedicated support for menopause through myTamarin. myTamarin provides 1 on 1 video consultations with menopause experts as well as a live online chat.
Support and resources are available for individuals who think they may be experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, and for anyone who has a partner going through symptoms and line managers, enabling our employees to better understand and provide the support needed.
At Stowe, we are also proud to share that we have signed the Wellbeing for Women Menopause Workplace Pledge, establishing our commitment as an employer that will support those experiencing symptoms of menopause.
