Here to help was the recurring theme when we held colleague focus groups to help us redefine our values and client proposition, at the start of 2021.

Stowe is a people first firm, with trained mental health and wellbeing champions in each region, a working model based on team working and plenty of opportunities for you to develop your skills and knowledge to support your career in family law.

Our commitment to dynamic working means you’re trusted to flex when and where you work, and we are continually seeking feedback and input to make further improvements to the way we work, and how we support and recognise our colleagues.

In 2022, this commitment saw Stowe recognised as a Two Star Accredited place to work by Best Companies.

We’re here to help each other

Whatever you’re up against, you’re never alone at Stowe. We might be spread across the country, but you’re only ever a click or a call away from a helping hand.

Value and respect are integral to who we are and we are passionate about providing equal opportunities for all.  We want to not just welcome but embrace and champion diversity and inclusion, and our team will do everything to support you from when you first get in touch.

Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging group works in partnership with our leadership team to look at how we can do more to make sure everyone can bring their true self to work and is educated on how to support our colleagues and clients. To read more about D&I at Stowe, click here.

We’re here to help you find balance

Our dynamic working approach was developed to be flexible to meet the different needs of our colleagues, whilst delivering exceptional service to our clients. Some of us are night owls, others are larks, and plenty of us flex our hours to fit school runs, dog walks or yoga classes.

There’s no one way to be part of our team. If you care about the same things we do, we’ll help you find a way of working that works for all of us.

Our Mental Health and Wellbeing group work in partnership with our People and Culture team to challenge stigma and encourage positive mental health and wellbeing. Our enhanced benefits package recognises that everyone is different, with unique priorities and commitments.  That’s why we include paid time off for volunteering, flexible banks holidays, allowing you swap to a traditional UK bank holiday for a date of cultural or religious significance to you, support from Carers UK and paid wellness days.

We’re here to help our communities

We want to support you and we want to support our clients, but we also want to do so much more.  We are developing our commitment to ensuring that with every action and decision we consider the impact we have on our communities and the wider planet. From office recycling and a huge reduction in printing and paper usage, to teams taking part in fundraising activities like the Tour de Law, we are committed to doing more and supporting you to do more too.

At the start of 2022 we joined the Legal Sustainability Alliance and are on our journey to measuring our footprint and developing a plan of action, led by our  Sustainable Stowe colleague group.

Our Stowe Giving Back colleague group launched our Stowe Giving Back project, a programme designed to help the local communities we live and work in.  We are proud to have supported more than 300 charities and not for profit organisations and donated more than £80,000
