We have been working with Best Companies for a few years now, taking part in their engagement surveys to gather insight and feedback from our colleagues. Acting on this insight has enabled us to improve from a ‘One to Watch’ in 2020 to a 2 Star Company, recognising our commitment to listening to feedback to ensure outstanding engagement.
We are delighted that for 2023 we have been recognised in the following lists, as well as being recognised as a 2 Star company:
Top 10 Law Firms to work for
Top 75 Large companies to work for
In the Top 25 in regional lists for the South West & Yorkshire and Humber and in Top 75 for the North West
Why is having this recognition important? Well, it helps us share what we already know – that Stowe is a great place to work!
The accreditation means potential new colleagues don’t just have to take our word for it but, more importantly, shows our commitment to listening to our people and making changes.
Just some of the actions we have taken over the past few years include:
- Enhanced benefits: increased maternity, paternity and adoption pay, introduced electric car scheme, fertility leave, and emergency dependants leave
- Health and Wellbeing support: a team of trained mental health champions, wellness leave and specialist menopause support from myTamarin
- Financial wellbeing: enhanced pension contributions, Stowe Helping Hand Fund
- Two way communication: from our fab intranet (thanks to Workvivo) to pulse surveys, colleague groups and our Stowefest conferences
- Diversity & Inclusion: launched colleague group, joined Inclusive Employers, introduced flexible bank holidays, collecting diversity data
- Community and charitable: Stowe Giving Back scheme, paid volunteering leave, tree planted for every colleague with The Future Forest Company
- L&D: in-house and externally supported training schemes to develop skills – supporting 17 internal lawyer promotions this month alone!
- How we work: dynamic working charter provides ongoing flexibility, team working ethos to manage workloads, celebrate success and support– ‘we’re better with each other than on our own’
