On Tuesday night a group of colleagues joined a live cook-a-long, celebrating South Asian Heritage month by supporting the amazing work of Migrateful.
We spent an incredible evening preparing two absolutely delicious dishes, led by Sri Lankan chef Yogi, who shared his personal story of moving to the UK and how Migrateful has helped him find his place in his new home country whilst expertly guiding us (including some less than experienced chefs!) to create two traditional Sri Lankan curries – yum!
Anyone can organise a cook a long, virtual or in person, and support the amazing work of Migrateful, so check out their
website here for more information.
Through our Stowe Giving Back scheme launched in 2020, we have donated more than £80,000 to good causes, supporting hundreds of charities big and small across the UK including multiple food banks, Greater Manchester Youth Network, Emmaus Leeds Community Kitchen and Lucy Air Ambulance for Children in London. Much of this activity is driven by our marketing team, who reach out to local good causes when we open new offices to help us support our communities.
Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging group have been discussing ways to get our colleagues more involved in the good causes we support. In fact, the Migrateful cook-a-long was suggested by a member of this group as a way to support a good cause and get people involved and celebrate SAHM.
We are working through the plans for a new, colleague led, charitable giving scheme that will give us the chance to nominate a cause close to your heart that you would like Stowe to support – look out for more information coming soon!
