Power Up is a programme for any Stowe colleagues who want to take control of their personal development. Whether they want to be more successful in their current role, are thinking of exploring their career options or even consider life goals, having the skills to own your growth and development is so important.
It is a highly interactive and practical programme run by our training partner, Anna. Through a series of workshops colleagues learn about the benefits of investing in themselves including, how to identify any personal development needs, exploring tools and resources available and how to make plans to support their future growth.
Some colleagues who completed this programme earlier in the year have shared how this course has made a difference to them;
What did you think of Power Up?
I was booked onto the course by my manager and found it has definitely made me more aware and become more proactive in developing myself, rather than just churning work out. I find myself being more organised and motivated with my work when I want to improve on myself too.
The sessions are well structured and the last session was really helpful in summarising everything. The tasks to do after each session were useful and doing the session virtually was good, with the team interaction and going into mixed sessions. Always interesting to hear other opinions rather than just listening.
What would you say to colleagues who might be interested in joining the next programme?
Go in with an open mind and really give it a try. I can see how some people may initially think it’s not their thing and it’s not worthwhile, but after a couple sessions, it does change your perspective.
What did you think of Power Up?
I had reached out to my manager and expressed interest in attending training that would further develop me as a leader, and this course came up at the right time.
The course was well paced, with sessions every couple of weeks in a small group – made it really easy to be open and honest and be heard throughout.
Attending Power Up has encouraged me to focus on me and realise that by developing myself, I will in the long term be able to contribute greater to my team and also the firm as a result.
What would you say to colleagues who might be interested in joining the next programme?
Go for it – and be prepared to be very open about what you want to attain. Anna will certainly help you learn more about yourself and how/what you can do to get what you want
